Kindling stimulation induces c- fos protein(s) in granule cells of the rat dentate gyrus

摘要: Alterations in neuronal gene expression have been proposed to account for permanent changes brain function such as learning and memory1–4. In particular, it has suggested that proto-oncogenes c-fos (ref. 5) may be rapidly induced conditions lead plasticity evoke the of effector genes1. Concentrations proto-oncogene increase following depolarization-induced calcium influx non-dividing neuronally differentiated PC 12 cells2,3. Recently, presence induction adult spinal cord observed6–8. Here we report electrically-induced seizure activity, which leads a response future seizures (kindling9), transiently increases protein-like immunoreac-tivity nuclei granule cells rat dentate gyrus. These results suggest protein is present within mammalian neurons, could involved plastic nervous system associated with activity.
