More on how and why: a response to commentaries

摘要: We are grateful to the commentators for taking time respond our article. Too many interesting and important points have been raised us tackle them all in this response, so below we sought draw out major themes. These include problems with both term ‘ultimate causation’ proximate-ultimate causation dichotomy more generally, clarification of meaning reciprocal causation, discussion issues related nature development phenotypic plasticity their roles evolution, consideration need an extended evolutionary synthesis.
