摘要: Abstract The geochemistry of Sepetiba Bay was studied in four sediment cores using a multi-element approach. Two were sampled the more contaminated eastern part bay and two western region. aim to determine whether less common elements like rare earths or actinides are associated with contaminant metals zinc Bay. Samples analysed by instrumental neutron activation analysis that permits quantification total concentrations (Ba, Co, Cr, Cs, Fe, Hf, Rb, Sc, Zn), earth (Ce, Eu, La, Lu, Sm Yb), (Th, U), non-metals semi-metals (As, Br). Organic carbon sulphur also analysed. results show very strong contamination top layers (more than 1000 μg g−1) background bottom (15 μg g−1). Elements chromium which would be expected released heavy industries Bay, did not profile, remained close those natural environments. No evidence any association between other potential could identified this work.
