摘要: The feasibility of a novel technique for efficient and selective population transfer from thermally populated level 1 via an intermediate state 2 to 3 is experimentally demonstrated. It shown sodium dimers that the process on‐ or near‐resonance stimulated Raman scattering with only partially overlapping laser beams is, in particular, useful high vibrational levels particles molecular beam. This achieved when interaction Stokes laser, coupling 3, begins earlier than pump laser. phenomenon, which closely related formation ‘‘trapped states,’’ quantitatively explained using basis eigenstates molecules strongly coupled radiation fields. similarity difference techniques such as rapid adiabatic passage phenomena two‐level systems, off‐resonant scattering, emission pumping briefly discussed.
