摘要: Using antibodies to basic and acidic proline-rich proteins (PRP) of salivary origin, we detected PRP immunoreactivity in serous cells human nasal, laryngeal, tracheobronchial glands by an immunoperoxidase technique. Immunoreactive PRP, immunoblotting from SDS gels, were also found culture mediums tracheal expiants. We hypothesize that interacting with glycoproteins mucus as other do, may be necessary for maintaining the appropriate viscoelastic properties respiratory secretions. Thus, play important role disease tract, such chronic bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis serve normal functions addition those previously identified oral cavity.
