摘要: Abstract Electrospray ionization of the tetrafluoroborate salts para substituted (chloro, bromo, nitro and methoxy) benzene diazonium ions (XC 6 H 4 N 2 + where X=Cl, Br, NO CH 3 O) results in formation bare ion as well mixed inorganic/organic salt [XC BF − ) n ] positive mode anion [BF negative mode. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) experiments were carried out on XC , ions. ESI/MS ESI/MS/MS data are presented which provide some support for “magic number” clusters observed each four salts. Collision induced dissociation result highly reactive phenyl cations, all cases. The gas phase reactivity both towards nine different nucleophiles, NuY (where NuY=H O, OH, CD OD, CN, (CH CO, (CD C(O)NHCH pyrrole aniline) was examined using a quadrupole trap spectrometer. While generally unreactive these cations readily react to yield energized adducts ). These undergo several fragmentation reactions, including an unusual radical loss substituent. CID reactions stabilized also fragmented via similar types reactions. Finally, substituent from adduct O NC NCCH shown distonic C its I CHCH abstraction with allyl iodide.
