摘要: The epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor is a transmembrane protein that has tyrosine kinase activity. It activated by both EGF and transforming factor-alpha (TGF-α). Human pancreatic cancer cells overexpress the exhibit parallel increase in mRNA without detectable number of gene copies coding for receptor. These also produce TGF-α are capable binding exogenous TGF-α. They often recycle EGF, but markedly rapidly degrade However, 10–100-fold more potent than enhancing their anchorage-independent growth. Both factors induce down-regulation, efficient this regard. concomitant overexpression production TGF-α, recycling attenuated ability to down-regulate may combine provide distinct advantage human cells.
