摘要: Artemisinin, a potent antimalarial sesquiterpene lactone, is produced in low quantities by the plant Artemisia annua L. We used inhibitors of both mevalonate and nonmevalonate terpenoid pathways to study seedlings hairy root cultures source isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP), channeling carbon from sterols sesquiterpenes, role that sugars may play controlling artemisinin biosynthesis. Together, our results indicated likely biosynthesized IPP pools originating plastid cytosol can be directed away competing sterol toward sesquiterpenes. Although glucose stimulated production, response very complex with ratios fructose involved; levels increased proportionate increasing amounts glucose. Disaccharides mainly inhibited but was less definitive. Glucose also expression some genes biosynthetic pathway, thereby suggesting this sugar acting not only as signal. As we develop better understanding regulation suggest many factors possibly harnessed increase production A. annua.
