First spectra of chlorine, bromine, and iodine in the 4-micron region

摘要: Use of liquid-nitrogen-cooled lead sulfide detectors has permitted the extension observations first spectra halogens in infrared region as far 4.0 μm. Descriptions, comprising wavelengths, wave numbers, intensities, and classifications, are presented that serve to close gap between upper wavelength limit detailed published analyses these at about 2.5 μm groups recently classified lines near 4 μm, also report newly observed 1.8–2.5-μm made accessible by improved response characteristics. Listed wavelengths identified calculated from established values energy levels. The descriptions should facilitate identification halogen mixed excited electrodeless tubes containing compounds.
