Parents' perceptions of health and physical activity needs of children with Down syndrome.

摘要: Individuals with Down syndrome typically have low fitness levels and obesity despite data that indicate physiological gains from physical activity exercise interventions. Low in individuals may be related to sedentary lifestyles, social recreational opportunities, or motivation physically active. These causal influences on the overall health of parental caregiver support. Through this study, parents children preschool adolescent ages were interviewed about their perceptions needs children. Data four focus groups indicated following most salient themes: (1) all believed participation has immediate long-term positive impacts child syndrome, thought would benefit being more active, (2) observed participated activities primarily for reasons, notably peers without sibling(s), such choose activities, (3) teenagers identified a need learn an individual sport sporting opportunities do not require ability-matched teammates opponents, (4) recognised help specialists through either parent education regarding home-based programmes increase appropriate community-based syndrome. The interview suggest future research should evaluate outcomes individualised interventions Additionally, educators, recreation specialists, therapists assist youth acquisition skills used dual sports.
