摘要: Fusarium fungi are common plant pathogens causing several diseases. The presence of these molds in plants exposes crops to toxic secondary metabolites called mycotoxins. most studied mycotoxins include fumonisins, zearalenone, and trichothecenes. Studies have highlighted the economic impact produced by Fusarium. These arrays toxins been implicated as causal agents wide varieties health effects humans animals ranging from acute chronic. Global surveillance has recorded significant progress its control; however, little attention paid sub-Saharan Africa, thus translating limited occurrence data. In addition, legislative regulation is virtually non-existent. emergence modified mycotoxins, which may contribute additional effects, worsens an already precarious situation. This review highlights status possible food processing mitigation strategies, well future perspectives.
