The sound of stress: blunted cortisol reactivity to psychosocial stress in tinnitus sufferers.

摘要: Clinical observations suggest that tinnitus is modulated by stress. However, there little empirical data to support the link between stress and tinnitus. In this study, we measured hormone cortisol examine reactivity of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis in participants as well healthy controls without Eighteen with 18 were exposed Trier Social Stress Task sampling subjective ratings obtained at regular intervals. Tinnitus displayed a blunted response psychosocial stress, comparison who had typical release about 30 min after beginning experiment. The suggests they have an anomaly along HPA axis. Their similar found other bodily stress-related diseases thus related intensity might not be concurrent manner.
