摘要: BACKGROUND: EU legislation strictly controls use of genetically modified (GM) crops in food and feed products, requires them to be labelled if the total GM content is greater than 9 g.kg-1 (for approved crops). We screened maize-containing products from Turkey assess prevalence material. RESULTS: With this aim, 83 – none as containing material were using multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for four common elements (35S/NOS/bar/FMV). Of these, 18.2% feeds 6% samples tested positive one or more these elements, subjected event-specific PCR identify which GMOs they contained. Most negative events tested, suggesting that may contain adventitious contaminants. One sample was shown an unapproved event (MON810, along with GA21) at a concentration well above statutory labelling requirement. CONCLUSION: Current has restricted penetration maize into Turkish industry but not eliminated it, proliferation different making monitoring increasingly complex. Our results indicate requirements are being followed some cases.
