Iron(II) and iron(III) complexes of N-(2-(4-imidazolyl)ethyl)pyrimidine-4-carboxamide, a ligand resembling part of the metal-binding domain of bleomycin

摘要: Reaction of N-(2-(4-imidazolyl)ethyl)pyrimidine-4-carboxamide (PrpepH, 4), a ligand that resembles portion the metal-chelating locus antitumor drug bleomycin with FeCl 2 •2H O and 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene in methanol affords «bis» complex [Fe(Prpep) ]•2CH 3 OH (5) good yield. The Fe(III) ]ClO 4 •2CH OH•CH CN is obtained from reaction mixture containing [Fe(DMSO) 6 ](ClO ) •DMSO, PrpepH, acetonitrile/methanol. Fe(II) 5 crystallizes triclinic space group P1
