摘要: We reviewed 22 patients who had arthroscopic evaluations and preoperative magnetic resonance imaging studies of their ankles because chronic anterolateral ankle pain after sprains. The ability surgeons to use the initial clinical examination predict arthroscopically confirmed impingement was compared with this condition using imaging. patient population consisted 15 men 7 women an average age 28 years. Five (23%) were intercollegiate athletes 17 (77%) recreational athletes. All reported previous traumas involved ankles, all seen pain. Clinical examinations used assess pain, swelling, range motion, stability. Anterolateral in 18 (82%) examination. a sensitivity 94% specificity 75% for predicting impingement, 39% 50%. results study suggest that is not beneficial or cost-effective diagnosis impingement; furthermore, its may cause further delay treatment.
