摘要: Objective There has been rapid growth in research regarding inflammation neuropsychiatric disorders as it relates to youth. We therefore set out systematically review the literature on and children adolescents. Method A systematic of was performed according Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Studies were included if proinflammatory markers (PIMs) and/or adolescents with measured. Results Sixty-seven studies included, involving 3,952 Evidence a state is strongest autism spectrum (ASD). PIMs are elevated major depressive disorder (MDD), bipolar (BD), post-traumatic stress (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive (OCD), Tourette's (TD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD), schizophrenia (SZ). However, data are inconsistent. specific equivocal at this stage, although findings youth MDD, BD, PTSD converge extant adult literature these areas. Definitive conclusions limited by methodologic factors including cross-sectional retrospective study design, between-study differences specific markers and methods analysis, small sample size, other sources heterogeneity. Conclusion The among represents nearly 4,000 preliminary evidence elevated population. Larger, prospective needed to realize goal inflammatory informing clinical practice. In interim, present suggest that further examination topic warranted.
