摘要: Abstract A series of four imidazolium salts containing increasing lengths fluoroalkyl substituents was synthesized. The three that exist as molten at 296 K were tested for their gas separation properties relating to CO 2 , O N and CH 4 using a supported ionic liquid membrane (SILM) configuration. These fluoroalkyl-functionalized room-temperature liquids (RTILs) found exhibit ideal selectivities /N lower than alkyl-functionalized analogues, but higher selectivity /CH separation. differences in performance RTILs relative counterparts are explained through the use solubility parameters, group contributions context classically observed deviations fluorocarbons from “regular” solution behavior.
