摘要: Germination is a crucial step for invasive plants to extend their distribution under different environmental conditions in new range. Therefore, information on germination characteristics of plant species provides invaluable knowledge about the factors which might contribute invasion success. Moreover, intra-specific comparisons controlled will show if responses between non-native and native populations are caused by evolutionary changes or phenotypic plasticity towards influences. This paper focuses Ulmus pumila populations. We expected that would be characterized higher final percentage enhanced rate, indicate an influence due corresponding climatic conditions. experiments with moderate warm temperature treatment did not reveal significant differences percentage. However, seeds from North American range germinated significantly faster than (p < 0.001). Additionally, mean time both ranges was negatively correlated annual precipitation = 0.022). At same time, this relationship stronger whereas nonnative seems less influenced Different could fast change mediating tolerance current our findings also artificial selection during introduction process extensive
