摘要: Background Permanent prostate brachytherapy (PPB) is a common treatment for early stage cancer. While the modern approach using trans-rectal ultrasound guidance has demonstrated excellent outcome, efficacy of PPB depends on achieving complete radiation dose coverage by obtaining proper source (seed) distribution. Currently, seed placement guided imaging and fluoroscopy. A significant percentage seeds are not detected because certain orientations invisible making accurate intra-operative feedback dosimetry very difficult, if impossible. Therefore, correction suboptimal distributions cannot easily be done with current methods. Vibro-acoustography (VA) an modality that capable solids at any orientation, resulting images speckle free.
