An exploration of rural and urban Kenyan women's knowledge and attitudes regarding breast cancer and breast cancer early detection measures.

摘要: Many women in Kenya with breast cancer symptoms do not seek medical attention until their is very advanced, leading to high mortality rates and a heavy burden on the nation. In this study we employed eight focus groups low- middle-income rural urban Kenyan explore knowledge, attitudes, behaviors concerning its early detection measures. Topics for discussion were derived from components of Health Belief Model (HBM). Findings revealed huge divide between all other respect knowledge addition, viewed as highly severe disease. Perceived benefits measures centered around preparing themselves what was assumed be inevitable death.
