摘要: High-resolution observations along with atmospheric and oceanic reanalyses are diagnosed to understand how why southeastern Atlantic SSTs have changed over the 1982–2013 period. Multiple datasets used evaluate confidence. Results indicate significant SST warming trends (0.5–1.5 K per 32-years) Guinean Angolan/Namibian Coasts, a cooling trend (−0.10 −0.60 K subtropical South between 18°S 28°S. shown vary annual cycle greatest changes occurring during November–January. Analysis of ocean surface heat balance reveals that austral summer Coast is associated an increase in net downward flux. In addition, there decrease coastal upwelling due circulation related poleward shift anticyclone intensification southwestern African thermal low. The also anticyclone, as stronger winds enhance latent loss from this region. Positive coast found be primarily internal ocean, specifically, reduced upwelling, diffusion, enhanced horizontal transport warmer water. These results highlight need better continental low interactions their implications for present day climate variability future change.
