摘要: Abstract The present study analyzes the combined viscoelectric and steric effects on electroosmotic flow of Newtonian fluids in nano/microchannels. governing equations that describe field are modified Poisson-Boltzmann equation for electric potential, mass conservation momentum equations, which solved numerically. On channel walls, arbitrary heterogeneous zeta potentials modulated via sinusoidal functions imposed, being controlled by a phase angle, an amplitude wave number. use leads to effect due fact viscosity near walls increases drastically. Also, presence high ionic concentrations large effective sizes causes excluded volume crowding ions into double layer; this manner, is relevant work. results show produces reduction magnitude velocity profiles when magnified. contrary, counteracts aforementioned effect, increasing flow. In addition, at generate induced pressure recirculations particular, number even condition with null volumetric rate; while odd number, favorable rate generated. This extends knowledge flows under future mixing applications.
