Comparison of Extracellular Polysaccharide Composition, Rhizobitoxine Production, and Hydrogenase Phenotype among Various Strains of Bradyrhizobium japonicum

摘要: A survey of 51 strains Bradyrhizobium japonicum was performed with respect to the composition extracellular polysaccharide (EPS), production rhizobitoxine and hydrogenase phenotype. good correlation found among these three different characteristics. Thirty-six producing an EPS composed glucose, mannose, galactose, 4-O-methyl galactose galacturonic acid did not synthesize rhizobitoxine, whereas 14 rhamnose glucuronic were all rhizobitoxine. Hydrogen-uptake positive (Hup + ) confined exclusively former group which produced acid. These results suggest that phenotype hydrogen uptake is involved in phylogeny as well productivity nodulated soybeans.
