摘要: Pregnant women with positive thyroid peroxidase autoantibodies (TPO - Ab) run an increased risk for developing postpartum thyroiditis (PPT). Eight clinically healthy pregnant in third timester were screened TPO Ab titres by radioimmunoassay (RIA) technique and followed 3 4 months postpartum. During pregnancy seropositivity was seen 17.5% cases. Serum thyroxine (T) stimulating hormone (TSH) levels done only seropositive cases normal limmits. After follow up 21.25% showed The rise in titre very signficant 23.5% of case (5% the total) who developed mildthyrotoxic phase PPT. T level above limits while serum TSH decreased them along clinical findings. Twenty nonpregnant included study as controls all seronegative TPO-Ab showeing significantly high prevalence during (P< 0.001).
