摘要: Abstract Introduction Little is known regarding how human papillomavirus-positive oropharyngeal cancer (HPV-OPC) patient goals change with treatment. This study evaluates whether ranking of non-oncologic priorities relative to cure and survival shift after treatment as compared at diagnosis. Materials Methods a prospective HPV-OPC survey responses diagnosis The importance 12 treatment-related was ranked on an ordinal scale (1 highest). Median rank (MR) using Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-rank tests. Prevalence high concern for 11 issues paired t-test. effect characteristics in priority evaluated linear regression. Results Among 37 patients, were generally unchanged diagnosis, persistently top priority. Having moist mouth uniquely rose Patient largely did not affect rank. Concerns decreased treatment, except recurrence. Discussion Treatment-related are similar regardless characteristics. experience does result from domains over survival. rise implies that xerostomia may have been underappreciated sequelae A decrease most concerns encouraging, whereas the persistence specific areas inform counseling.
