摘要: The Carpathians are one of the major mountain ranges Europe, but still its least studied regions. It is increasingly recognized that they played a role in formation and Pleistocene survival numerous continental, arctic, arctic–alpine taxa. Many endemic taxa have been described from these mountains. number phylogeographic/phylogenetic studies covering at partially also increasing. These reveal unevenly distributed genetic taxonomic diversity. In this work, we analyse population structures revealed by case on aquatic insects, comparing them to existing literature data plants, butterflies, vertebrates, distribution several microendemics. molecular lineages and/or microendemics show strong biogeographic within Carpathians. overlap between barriers intraspecific suggests isolation populations among Carpathian (Western Carpathians, Eastern Apuseni Mts, Southern Banat Serbian Carpathians) promoting
