Use of haematoxylin in the spectrophotometric determination of alkaloids in pharmaceuticals, galenicals and powdered plants

摘要: A simple and sensitive method for the determination of about fifteen alkaloids is described. The procedure based on reaction with haematoxylin reagent in aqueous medium to give a red–violet colour (λmax= 555 nm).
