摘要: In many situations, driving is essential for senior citizens to maintain their independent lifestyle. A systematic literature review was conducted that summarized the age-related physical, visual and cognitive functional declines associated risk driving. Based on these findings, we explored whether skills required in playing Xbox Kinect video games were correlated with measures of performance among older drivers. Fifty-two participants, 65 years age or (Mean = 72; SD 3.84; range – 85 years; 29 males) who have access a car drive frequently invited play Just dance, Table Tennis (ping pong), Bowling, Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training Exercises an 360. Participants also completed 25-minute on-road task along predetermined route assess identify critical errors using similar instrument as used by license tester. Bivariate correlation examined relationship between game scores objective skills. There significant (r 0.861, p <0.001), indicating ‘good gamers are good drivers’. This males 0.864, <0.001) well females 0.878, <0.001). We suggest may be suitable, cost-effective less-risky indicator drivers, particularly jurisdictions which mandatory testing has been introduced being considered requirement driver licensing process.
