摘要: Adaptive management strategies are required to manage multi-actor and multifunctional river landscapes. Such need be inclusive of perspectives different stakeholders. We present a case study pilot engineering project in the Dutch Waal, which drastically changed appearance landscape. perceptions four stakeholder groups (residents, recreational anglers, boaters shipping professionals) regarding impacts this intervention on landscape values, including aesthetics, naturalness, biodiversity, flood safety accessibility. Results show that stakeholders differ functions they find important how perceive longitudinal dams influence They also levels place attachment trust responsible authority. Shipping professionals stand out for their more negative evaluations compared other stakeholders, while especially residents demonstrate high identity connection with nature. Residents feel improving risk area, positively evaluate knowledge skills water managers. These results provide managers much needed insights into valued by those perceived as most endangered interventions.
