摘要: Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimycobacterial and antigonorrhoeal activities three naphthoquinones (diospyrone, crassiflorone plumbagin) from Diospyros canaliculata crassiflora as well crude extracts these plants. agar disk diffusion assay, broth microdilution method, microplate Alamar blue assay (MABA) radiometric respiratory technique using BACTEC 460 TB system were used. Results assays indicated that minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) bactericidal ranged 1.22 μg/mL 39.06 μg/mL for Mycobacterium smegmatis all studied tuberculosis strains extract D. , diospyrone crassiflorone. killing rate experiment revealed a total inhibition effect on M. H37Rv strain observed at Day 18 21 4× MIC determined by MABA. able prevent growth Neisseria gonorrhoeae . overall results work provide evidence plant might be potential sources new antimicrobial drugs against gonorrhoea.
