摘要: Advances in our understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of seizure disorders have transformed the management epilepsy. As number antiepileptic drugs their formulations increase, so do expectations therapy. Once limited to attaining complete control seizures, epilepsy now strives enable patients lead lifestyles consistent with own capabilities. Extended-release drug can help achieve primary goals for many epilepsy: preventing occurrence seizures or reducing side effects. The dosing flexibility consistency serum levels (without marked peak-to-trough fluctuations) conferred by extended-release these goals. These same attributes may also improve compliance, quality life, patient satisfaction treatment.
