摘要: Genetic counseling in the pediatric oncology setting involves unique challenges. Various ethical and psychosocial considerations must be taken into account when evaluating minors for hereditary cancer syndromes. Factors that often addressed this include issues surrounding if to consider genetic testing affected individuals, limited data guidelines regarding surveillance or management, predictive at risk minor relatives, access care, family dynamics. This paper reviews some of important genetics using examples from Li–Fraumeni syndrome, constitutional mismatch repair deficiency SDH-related paraganglioma pheochromocytoma, retinoblastoma, familial adenomatous polyposis. Common challenges identifying appropriate patients evaluation, helping families with decisions options, determining clinical incorporating future directions syndromes care.
