摘要: The seismicstratigraphy of the upper 1 km sediment in northern Labrador Sea has been determined from examination about 26 000 line kilometres seismic profiles. Four key reflectors (A to D) have correlated with Deep Drilling Project (DSDP) and Ocean Program (ODP) holes range age mid-Pliocene approximately mid-Pleistocene. Ten facies distinguished are interpreted as resulting slope progradation, turbidite deposition channels on basin floor, widespread contourite deposition.Tertiary sediments predominantly hemipelagic or contourite, but mid-Pliocene, began northeast Basin, which might reflect either Greenland glaciation lowering sea level.
