摘要: confident." Not long ago, a visitor to New York City alternative high school sat in on daily advisory group. She watched as students wrote personal journals, then shared what they had written. As did so, one young male apart, not participating, seemingly indifferent the proceedings. At end of session she asked thought about their advisories. It was this student who responded, looking directly at visi tor and saying: "This group has saved my life. It's only place where I feel completely safe." His feelings might also have been verbalized by any junior City's Community School District #1(CSD#1), advisories since 1990. When properly facilitated faculty staff advisors, these groups are indeed "safe places" which may learn themselves impact others.
