摘要: In wireless cellular networks, a roaming mobile station (MS) is expected to move from one cell another. order ensure that ongoing calls are not dropped while the owner stations roam among cells, handoff may be admitted with higher priority than newly generated calls. Predictive channel reservation (or pre-reservation) schemes allow of for an call in adjacent before its MS moves into cell, so sustained when cell. Pre-reservations made within some distance new boundary. This determines area which can make reservations. this paper, we study effect pre-reservation size on performance networks. Our studies show if reserved channels strictly mapped MSs corresponding reservations, as increase size, system (in terms probability dropped) improves initially. However, beyond certain point, begins degrade due large number false The optimal closely related traffic load network and MSs' mobility pattern (moving speed). We provide analytical formulation furthers understanding regard perceived behavior one-dimensional networks all cells along line). With objective improving alleviating sensitivity propose adaptive scheme. Unlike prior methods, key idea our scheme send request possible neighboring only based position orientation MS, but also per speed towards target proposed uses GPS measurements determine requests made. Simulation results performs better typical scenarios previously popular method does take account.
