摘要: The EORTC trial 22881/10882 is a randomised with the aim to assess role of boost dose in breast conserving therapy stage I and II cancer. In order detect potential protocol deviations concerning irradiation technique specification procedure participating institutions before actual patient accrual, Dummy Run was performed. Three transverse sections were sent 16 request make three-plane treatment plan according prescriptions. A chart beam data also requested for recalculation dose. Additional information asked questionnaire. On evaluation, techniques differed considerably respect photon energy, varying between 60Co gamma-rays 8 MV X-rays, use wedge filters. Two did not apply wedges, whereas angles other varied 6 degrees 45 degrees. Twelve used collimator rotation and/or table diminish amount irradiated lung volume. specified point prescription 11 90, 95 or 100% isodose curve four. applied density corrections during planning, while nine reported problems their planning system off-axis distribution calculation simulation rotation. Recalculation at isocentre showed agreement within 2% compared stated tumour excision area 93 100%.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
