摘要: Abstract We consider the possibility of stabilising a polymer by using low-molecular-weight, mobile and soluble antioxidant, trapped in small volume fraction encapsulant which releases it into surrounding to compensate for consumption or loss. Two models are discussed. In ‘matrix’ model, additive is dissolved an its release controlled entirely diffusion coefficient encapsulant. ‘balloon’ pure surrounded wall encapsulant, through permeates. Modelling allows required permeation coefficients be calculated any chosen loss time. Purely diffusion-controlled would require improbably low coefficients, whereas permeabilities balloon accessible. It difficult imagine system temperature rate enough allow elevated processing without additive.
