摘要: Abstract Background Non-classic lobular carcinoma in situ (NC-LCIS) is a rare pre-cancer breast lesion that warrants excision to exclude invasive disease. In patients pursuing breast-conserving surgery (BCS) for NC-LCIS, the need wide surgical margins controversial. We characterized outcomes of women diagnosed with NC-LCIS at large, academic medical center. Methods Female seen our institution from 2008 2018 pure were retrospectively identified. Patients excluded if was background cancer or ductal situ. Clinicopathologic and follow-up data collected. Rates upstage, re-excision, recurrence calculated. Results identified 26 on biopsy. 80.8% initially pursued conservation, while 19.2% underwent mastectomy. At definitive surgery, 11.5% upstaged. Among 19 non-upstaged BCS, 47.4% had least one re-excision 26.3% converted receiving BCS without completion mastectomy, 64.3% final negative 35.7% positive close margins. No recurrences observed. One patient developed 8.3 years post-surgery, did 2.2 post-surgery. All alive time analysis no evidence Conclusion presented largest series NC-LCIS. re-excisions mastectomies common. However, when achieved, prognosis excellent.
