摘要: Compared to their relatives, the diversity of endosymbiont-containing Trypanosomatidae remains under-investigated, with only two new species described in past 25 years, bringing total six. The possible reasons for such a poor representation this group are either overall scarcity or susceptibility symbionts antibiotics that traditionally used cultivation flagellates. In work we describe isolation, cultivation, as well morphological and molecular characterization novel endosymbiont-harboring trypanosomatid species, Kentomonas sorsogonicus sp. n. newly erected genus gen. shares many common features genera Angomonas Strigomonas, presence an extensive system peripheral mitochondrial branches distorting corset subpellicular microtubules, large loosely packed kinetoplast, rudimentary paraflagellar rod. Here also propose unite all endosymbiont-bearing trypanosomatids into subfamily Strigomonadinae subfam.
