摘要: The class Kinetoplastea encompasses both free-living and parasitic species from a wide range of hosts. Several representatives this group are responsible for severe human diseases economic losses in agriculture livestock. While over 30 genera, most the available information has been derived vertebrate pathogenic genera Leishmaniaand Trypanosoma. Recent studies previously neglected groups indicated that actual diversity is much higher than thought. This article discusses known segment kinetoplastid how gene-directed Sanger sequencing next-generation methods can help to deepen our knowledge these interesting protists.
