摘要: Abstract Aims Since angiotensinogen has a pivotal role in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, analysis of polymorphisms (AGT) gene could help explain its potential involvement hypertension and diabetic nephropathy (DN) pathogenesis. For that reason, we investigated 1) association AGT rs4762 with blood pressure (BP) kidney function-related traits 2) interaction effect DN on BP 546 Mexican adults type 2 diabetes (T2D). Methods We enrolled unrelated patients T2D (350 cases 196 controls without DN). was genotyped all participants using TaqMan technology (effect allele: A). traits, including serum urea creatinine, urinary albumin, urine albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR), glomerular filtration rate, were studied. defined as having previous diagnosis an ACR ≥ 30 mg/g. The between these parameters logistic regression adjustment for covariates. Results A allele significantly associated diastolic (N = 546, β = 1.243 ± 0.918, p = 0.029). significant also observed relation (DBP) β = 0.930 0.433, p=0.032). follow-up simple effects particularly revealed positive DBP only (N = 350, β = 2.837 ± 1.267, p = 0.026). Conclusion Our results evidence that, although is not DN, positively population DN.
