摘要: We assess the evolution of consumption inequality in Canada over years 1997 to 2009. correct imputation shelter for homeowners allow unobserved differences housing quality correlated with selection into rental tenure, and we account measurement error this imputation. Using annual Survey Household Spending 2009, find that household-level measured by Gini coefficient increased from 0.251 0.275 2006. Between 2006 2007, may have decreased, 2007 was flat. Over entire period moderately. The individual-level followed a similar pattern, though changes were smaller magnitude. also explore possible correction tail non-response bias increase is robust correction.
