摘要: Encapsulated aluminum pigments were prepared by sol–gel derived inorganic–organic hybrid coatings. Aluminum first coated with film using tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES) as the precursor, followed free radical copolymerization of styrene (St), divinylbenzene (DVB) maleic acid anhydride (MAA) vinyl group VTES. The as-prepared encapsulated pigment was characterized Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron (XPS). Subsequently stability in alkaline aqueous media examined. It found that both TEOS-and-VTES-coated (TV-coated) TEOS–VTES–St–DVB–MAA-coated (TVSDM-coated) superior test over uncoated pigments. Furthermore, corrosion protection efficiency TVSDM-coated reaches 99.8%, indicating composite layer on surface can protect them well.
