摘要: The smoothness of new pavements constructed for the Ontario Ministry Transportation (MTO) is accepted on basis Profile Index (PI), as measured by California Profilographs. Since these 7.6 m long devices are difficult to handle, operated at walking speeds (3-5 km/hr) and can only measure one wheelpath a time, MTO hot mix industry have been looking an alternative device that would be easier safer operate. This paper summarizes results two field studies which were conducted using laser inertial profilers consisting "lightweight" profilers, 15 20 km/hr "high speed" highway speeds. Both kinds also both wheelpaths simultaneously in units (PI) International Roughness (IRI). take measurements much faster than Profilographs, they cause less disruption traffic inherently Based studies, used replace Profilographs acceptance pavement construction IRI integrated into term monitoring Ontario's pavements.
