Assessment of Sustainable Use of a Multipurpose Reservoir through the Multicriteria Approach: the Case of Corumbá IV Reservoir, Brazil

摘要: This study proposes a framework for assessing and ranking set of sustainable alternatives instream use the Corumba IV reservoir, multipurpose water resource located in center-east Brazil. The model is structured with six applicable benefits five uses, identified through in-depth interviews four interest groups. fuzzy analytic hierarchy process was used to calculate benefit weights performance uses relative benefits, which were inputs Electre III method, determine rank order hierarchies preferences indicate conflicts. results demonstrate need develop an institutional governing multiple reservoir analyzed, negotiating adverse impacts associated population growth, regional development mitigation conflicts among stakeholders.
