摘要: Abstract Processes in collective migration span many length and time scales. In this review, we focus on scales ranging from tens of microns (single cells) to a few millimeters (cell clusters) the motion these cells cell groups minutes hours. We epithelial sheets metrics developed measure phenotypes system. Comparisons between fluid flows, facilitated by popular image analysis technique particle velocimetry, yield that can be used study across range Measuring provides complex, quantitative phenotype useful for models, particular those compare contrast movement particles near transition jamming. Contrasting jamming illustrates aspects attributed jammed character clusters, highlights behavior likely involve active motility cell-cell guidance. The application multiple metrics, which system, thus allows us link cell-scale signals mechanics behavior.
