摘要: Multi-male mating (MMM) by females is relatively common among mammals, occurring in at least 133 species and several evolutionary benefits of MMM have been proposed. The most convincing explanation that confuses paternity, thereby deterring infanticide males. A second for are unlikely to experience a consequence sexual harassment. Mate guarding and, perhaps even some cases, behavioral monogamy, might evolved response the threat subsequent tendency mate multiply. Benefits relating improved genetic fitness offspring do occur species, but not provide widespread origin MMM; if cryptic female choice through sperm competition adaptive it probably as of, rather than precursor to, promiscuity. Here, we support original hypothesis paternity confusion MMM, more popular good genes or hypotheses.
