摘要: Abstract The influence of citrate on the precipitation in unseeded and seeded supersaturated aluminate solutions is reported. At high Cit/Al ratios (>0. 1) extensive complex formation takes place but already at low (10−4–10−2), where this effect hardly changes supersaturation, rate strongly retarded. bayerite appears to be more sensitive concentration than that pseudoboehmite can even prevented rather (∼0.01). Transformation into also inhibited these ratios. Citrate may therefore used selectively precipitate pseudoboehmite. A simple adsorption model introduced explain role retarding growth. Evidence presented show dual played by nucleation as revealed long time lags relaxation experiments. More nuclei are generated with increasing growth particles slowed down.
