摘要: There are two types of nutritionally important polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), namely ω-6s and ω-3s. PUFAs their metabolites generated from lipid peroxidation via cyclooxygenase (COX) lipoxygenase (LOX) believed to be involved in a variety physiological pathological processes the human body. Both COX- LOX-catalyzed PUFA complex events that generate series radicals, which may then bind proteins, target DNA/RNA, lead number biological changes. However, due lack an appropriate method, it was not possible until recently identify short-lived PUFA-derived radicals COX-/LOX-catalyzed peroxidation. Failure characterize free during has greatly restricted our knowledge about COX/LOX biology health. Here we review development refinement combined ESR spin trapping LC/ESR/MS formed vitro (cell-free) We also present most recent approach for studying cells allows us directly assess potential bioactivity radicals. This advanced technique resulted major breakthrough radical structural characterization, as well assessment radical-associated cell growth response, thereby improving PUFAs, peroxidation, related consequences.
