摘要: Abstract A study was carried out to assess the effect of temperature variations, both decreasing and increasing, on performance a mesophilic (35 °C) thermophilic (55 °C) upflow anaerobic filter treating simulated papermill wastewater. An organic loading rate 1.95 kg COD per m3 day used throughout study. The digester (MD) lowered room (18–24 °C) for 11 days then returned 35 °C. (TD) 45 °C followed by further decrease 35 °C 6 days. It 55 °C. To examine an increase in temperature, MD raised days, 55 °C 5 that TD 65 °C affected drop but only showed marked reaction when caused lower removal efficiencies, higher suspended solids (SS) effluent, biogas production, accumulation volatile fatty acids (VFA). However, reactors were able recover their efficiencies fully after temperatures readjusted optimum conditions. did not show any detrimental effect, while increases 55 TD, respectively, gave immediate drops treatment efficiency. it appeared bacteria digesters adapt few acclimatisation shock. After conditions, microorganisms be more resilient than microorganisms.
